Human Rights Series 3rd :Here is everything foreign workers need: Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Foreign Worker Support Center helps
Today, I would like to introduce an institution that provides assistance in various practical areas for foreign workers in Jeju Island. If you have difficulties adapting to Korean society, just visit the webpage of this organization (jejumwc.kr) and search for information in your first language.
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Foreign Worker Support Center aims to promote the rights and interests of foreign workers residing in the Jeju province and to improve their welfare. Jeju Foreigners' Peace Corps was entrusted with the 'Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Foreign Worker Support Center Operation' from the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and has been operating the center since January 2019.
The foreign worker support center provides useful information to foreign workers and develops various customized welfare services such as Korean language education, legal consultation, community activities, cultural events, operation of shelters for foreign workers, and counseling regarding difficulties experienced by foreign workers in Korea.
Moreover, the organization’s webpage provides translated versions of information in all world languages besides English and Korean for immigrants who have language barriers. Offline consultation is also available in the applicant’s first language if an interpreter is requested in advance via the homepage.
